It is State law that all dogs must be licensed. This is for public safety, as licensed dogs will need to have a current rabies vaccination. The license fee is $8.00 for altered dogs, and $20.00 for intact dogs. Multiple dog licenses (12 dogs or more) will remain the same at $60.00. Licenses may be obtained by mail by sending a copy of the rabies certificate along with a separate check made payable to the Town of Frankfort. The certificate will be returned to you with your license(s). If you no longer have your dog, please contact me so I can remove your pet from the Town's dog list.




The Town of Frankfort's Zoning Ordinance was adopted on July 31, 2013. For information regarding permitted structures and uses, please refer to the Zoning Ordinance online or contact Maureen Manore, Town Clerk, 715-442-2685 or


  1.  A Zoning Acknowledgement form is required for any new construction and for new (proposed) land uses on existing parcels. A quick reference to setbacks and zones is on the bottom of the form.

  2. If construction is for a dwelling, either to build, add onto or alter in excess of $10,000 you must obtain a Building Permit from the Town's Building Inspector, Weber Inspections.  Mr. Weber can be reached at: (715) 556-2446 or at:

  3. The Zoning Ordinance also restricts land division.  The majority of the Town is zoned Ag-Residential and must maintain at least 10 acres when dividing for sale.



Voter I.D. will be required for all Elections.  Please remember to bring a photo I.D.  A current Wisconsin driver's license is acceptable. For those that don't have that, there are other forms of acceptable photo ID -- check out for the specifics.


We encourage everyone to make sure they have a valid photo ID well in advance of election day!  If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact the Town Clerk 715-442-2685



If you have any questions regarding your taxes, changes in property value or other assessment issues, please direct them to the Town Assessor, Mark Garlick, at (715) 287-3376.

Name changes to parcels must be changed through the County at the Registrar of Deeds Office, (715) 672-8856. Legally, I can only change billing addresses on tax statements. The first half of your real estate and personal property taxes are to be paid by January 31, 2019. Please make checks payable to the Town of Frankfort. Please allow 10 business days to receive your receipt. Payments received by mail are preferred, but if you must pay in person, please call me to schedule an appointment as my work schedule varies. Any taxes postmarked after January 31, 2019, will be delinquent. The County Treasurer will add interest and penalties to all delinquent taxes.



  The second installment of real estate tax is due to the PEPIN CO TREASURER

  by July 31, 2019. Second installment checks must be made payable to the Pepin

  County Treasurer and sent to: 740 7th Ave.W PO Box 39, Durand, WI 54736.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that at an election to be held in the Town of Frankfort on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed. All terms are for two years beginning on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that a town caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates to appear on the spring election ballot for the above listed offices will be scheduled between December 1st, 2018 and January 1st, 2019. The caucus will be held on a date not sooner than January 2nd and January 21st. Notice of the scheduled date of the caucus will be given at least five days before the caucus.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.
